The standard Japanese maple, 
not as common as some of the specialty varieties, 
is considered:
A woody, deciduous, they will go dormant in the late fall 
to early spring. 
Their leaves will fall off the branches, 
and the tree goes into hibernation until
 the following spring. 
These small tree that can reach 20-30 feet high, or kept as a bonsai. 

Naturally An understory shrub that can grow in from heavy shade to full sun: 

the pigment of the leaves are a reddish to green Hugh 
that make full sun more tolerable. 
The leaves of the little beauties, 
put on a colorful show through all four seasons. 
From lime green to vibrant red and golden yellow. 

They Prefer constant watering, but is highly drought tolerant.
Gracefully Makes a dome like form when fully mature. 

Popular uses for this elegant and beautiful tree in landscape focal point, and ornamental gardens. 
These guys can put on 12-18 inches a year.
Best grown in hardness zones 5-8
